Bhava Sandhi

Sandhi is the transition of a planet from one house to another or from one sign to another. Sandhi is a short section of the zodiac path of planets or Lagna and is more like a transit in nature. Planets in transit bring lesser and secondary results, that is, they manifest weaker, and this gives obstacles and losses throughout life, not giving the opportunity to manifest the results of their own houses or signs. Planets in sandhi endow a person’s character with uncertainty and are perceived ambiguously by others, which can make it difficult for a person to make a choice regarding each of the 12 houses in the horoscope.

The last navamsa of a sign, which is 3°20' and the initial navamsa of the next bhava (also 3°20'), show the region of bhava sandhi in an equipoise system. Planets in bhava sandhi are unable to influence the houses in which they are placed and will cause loss and grief.
