Parametric search works only with horoscoped indexed by the system. By default, when you create a new account, indexing of charts is not automatically turned on. To enable it, tick «Index my charts for parametric search» checkbox in your account settings. Horoscopes will be available for searching within an hour.

There are several reasons why the results may vary:

1. The Shadbala calculation in JMC Calculator is carried out according to the principles set forth in «Maan Sagari». Other programs may be based on other references, such as «Brihat-Parasara-Hora-Shastra».
2. Some of the Shadbala components such as Ayana bala and Cheshta bala, are calculated using simplified formulas, where the error is considered acceptable.

There are several reasons why the calculated information may differ. Check that in both programs you have specified:

• correct time zone — you may not have taken into account daylight saving time;
• correct coordinates — check that latitude and longitude are not mixed up and do not exceed the maximum allowed values ​​in fractional part (max. 59 ');
• the same ayanamsha — traditional Lahiri ayanamsha is used by default;
• the same system of domification — in the Jyotish tradition, an equal-house system with a cusp in the middle of the sign is used.

There are two views on determining the position of lunar nodes: true positions and mean ones. The true values ​​of the nodes reflect their actual nature of movement, in contrast to the mean ones, where the speed of movement is always taken as constant and negative (retrograde movement). By default, the program on this site uses the true values.

The horoscope calculator on this site displays the names used in Jyotish in Sanskrit by default. For those who have an account on this web site, the display language can be changed in the settings on the «For display» tab.

There are several versions / schools / paramparas as to what the deities are called in divisional charts and which amsa they govern. JMC Calculator uses deities given in the «Brihat-Parasara-Hora-Shastra».

In JMC Calculator the calculations of Vimshottari and Yogini dasas are based on the length of the year equal to the mean sideral solar year = 365.256364 days. This, however, can be changed in the settings.

Make sure this meaning is the same in the astrological software you compare the result with.

The definition of planetary war (graha-yudha) is ambiguous in various programs and paramparas. The program on this site uses an integrated approach to the definition of planetary war, which takes into account the following factors:

• Latitude (not longitude!)
• Natural brightness
• Strength by relationship (sambandha)
• Power by position in Rashi (graha loses power if it is debilitated)

You can change the setting so that the program determines the winner based on longitude only (the most popular method).
